About Omen Technology
In 1984 Chuck Forsberg decided to start his own company.
He worked at a place called Computer Development Incorporated.
There were several companies with the same name in the Wu Telex directory.
Other companies with the same initials were much better known.
Forsberg decided to use a unique name.
A fascination with Star Trek stories about clashes of civilizations
led to some random thoughts.
Somehow the word OMEN popped up.
It had nothing to do with the occult or the movie by that name.
Omen Technology is a small business S corporation
incorporated in 1984 to develop communications
and file transfer software for a variety of computer systems.
Chuck Forsberg, Omen Technology president,
has developed a number of protocols and protocol implementations,
including YMODEM and ZMODEM.
